Well, here it is....the blog. I swore I would never write a blog, but people think I'm crazy, and it's all about my racing addiction. Now, I won't lie, I am not the fastest, the latest and greatest, and I have weight to lose (35 lbs in total). I don't know, there's just something about lining up at the starting line with 1,000 other strangers who are all there for the same purpose: to finish. The anxiety of a swim start in a triathlon, the excitement that comes with never being alone during a marathon, the comfort of volunteers who don't know you from Adam passing out fluid and well wishes. The swelling of pride and overcoming emotion when you cross that finish line is incomparable. I'm not crazy, I am addicted to the accomplishment of a job well done.
Saturday April 25th is when the next season of Sole Runners starts up for the next season to be followed by five weeks of racing:
May 2nd: PV Half
May 9th: Xterra Malibu Creek Challenge 6k
May 17th: Bay to Breakers
May 25th: LA Marathon
June 3rd: LA Tri Express Sprint Tri @ Bonelli park (where my racing all began in 2003)
From there it's just focus on training and life leading to the fall season that kicks off with the Disneyland Half Marathon on Sept. 6th, Labor Day!
I swear, if you ever, ever wanted to even just walk, checkout www.socalrunning.com for info on the trainning program for Sole Runners. Even on a run that might be three hours you will be nothing but grateful that you rose up to the challenge.

Nice to see your blog! I know what you mean about the excitement of a race. It's addictive

Hey! It's Jen from BBC (onlies). I know what you mean about races being addicting! I have not done a race in 5 months or so, but yeah, it can be addicting! I have been terrible, I've had a blog for a while but have been neglecting it for months!
